The English giants who have lately dropped down to the Europa League are rumoured to be calling back their young striker James Wilson. As per reports at Sky Sports, there is a possibility that United gaffer Louis van Gaal will be using the recall option placed in the forward’s contract.
This came into news after Wilson immediate impact at his new club, Brighton, was noticed. Manchester United has been impressed by his performance at the new club and fancy recalling him at Old Trafford.
Wilson exited from Manchester last month on loan as the manager let him go. This created complete chaos among the fans as they were disappointed by the manager’s decision. Letting go Wilson meant that the English giants have only two proper strikers – Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial.
Considering the fact that the squad has just two options in terms of strikers, one expected that Wilson would be given more games to prove himself and eventually be gifted more game time, too. But things weren’t in the favour of the striker as Wilson was loaned to the Championship side, Brighton. However, at Brighton, Wilson took no time to show his glamour.
He has already scored twice for them. The 20-year-old was signed on a youth loan by Albion which gives United the right of recall from the end of December. And the possibility of recalling looks highly imminent here as Wayne Rooney is out of form and also injured and Martial has not been able to keep up his goal galore. Manchester United’s current weak performance will be the reason of Wilson’s early return from his loan spell.
