Manchester United and their problem with strikers up front are well known to their fans, however, those worried could be about to be eased off with a £18million signing former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato.
According to the Express, Pato will be made available in January if United decide to splash the cash for the striker, who was once tipped to be the next best thing in Brazilian football. However, injuries and some bad choices ruined Pato’s career.
United are currently struggling to find a replacement for Anthony Martial, who in all sense of the world is the only striker at Manchester United, with Wayne Rooney getting withdrawn in midfield far often than to everyone’s liking.
Pato, on his day can give any defense a decent run for their money. There are signs that he is slowly getting back to where he started as he has netted 9 goals in 27 matches this season, a return which could attract Louis Van Gaal and might force them in to making a bid for the 26-yar old striker.
Pato will indeed be a gamble, but like Martial, if he comes off then it will be the another solid bit of transfer business completed by Manchester United and Louis Van Gaal.
