Championship outfit Aston Villa has reportedly won the chase to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. Jose Mourinho has recalled Joel Pereira from Belenenses as cover, a big indication that Johnstone’s career at the Old Trafford is finished.
The 23-year old custodian, who hasn’t played a first-team game for United but has impressed during loan spells with Doncaster and Preston, was wanted by several clubs in the ongoing transfer window and Daily Mail has claimed that Villa are all set to sign him.
