An 89th-minute equaliser from super substitute Olivier Giroud meant Arsenal and Manchester United share points in an exciting 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

The hosts were superior in the match for most of the time as they deserved went ahead courtesy of Juan Mata after 68 minutes and were cruising to victory only to see Giroud continue his impressive form which ensured Arsenal continue their title race.

Here we look at the player ratings of the big game of the weekend in Premier League.

Manchester United

David de Gea-6

Had a quiet evening in the post as he was rarely tested by Arsenal’s attack.

Valencia- 8

Was very impressive in attack as he used the right flank to supply balls to the middle.

Jones- 7

Very good performance by the outcast as he is back to the scheme of things. Could be solution for Bailly’s absence in the coming weeks.

Rojo- 6

Decent overall but could have been better in the central defence.

Darmian- 6

Very physical against Arsenal attackers. Booked once but could have been sent off but has been very good in defence.

Carrick- 8

As always shielded the defence well and produced impressive balls in the midfield.

Herrera- 8

Another solid performance by the Spaniard who is looking to be their best midfielder this season as he assisted for Mata’s goal.

Pogba- 8

The Frenchman is getting better as the weeks are progressing and has chipped in with another dominating performance.

Mata- 9

Creative as always in the final third. Almost won it for United when he opened the scoring after 68 minutes.

Martial- 6

Largely kept quiet in the game as he often exposed Darmian in the defence. Had a good shot at the goal but not a great game for the Frenchman.

Rashford- 7

The youngster had a very good game overall but was eclipsed by his midfielder’s performances.

Arsenal

Cech- 8

Arguably the best player for the Gunners as his brilliant saves have kept them in the game till the end as they eventually salvaged a point.

Jenkinson- 7

Was an effective replacement for injured Bellerin but lacked the movement forward as he highly played in his own half.

Mustafi- 6

Had a decent game overall but the German star was expected to perform better as Arsenal were pushed back in their own half for most of the game.

Koscielny- 7

The captain has led the defence well as they soaked a lot of pressure from Manchester United’s attacks.

Monreal- 6

Was heavily exposed on the left side as Antonio Valencia combined well to move forward and create Monreal lot of problems.

Coquelin- 7

Was pressed heavily by United but has managed to provide shield to the defence.

Elneny- 5

Brought ahead of Xhaka into the first team in such high profile game, Elneny had a bad day to forget and Wenger would be looking at his place when Arsenal meets PSG next Tuesday.

Ramsey- 4

Possibly the poorest player on the pitch, Ramsey couldn’t affect the game despite putting lot of hard work by covering a lot of ground.

Walcott- 7

Looked decent when he was involved in the final third but lacked the finishing touch which might have affected the visitor’s tempo.

Ozil- 6

Had an average game as he has little involvement with Arsenal enjoying little spells of domination.

Sanchez- 6

Booked for his reckless tackle on Herrera early in the game. Tried to create chances but United’s defence was up to the task.
