Manchester United vs Burnley - Predicted lineups 1

Manchester United will look put their recent performances in the Premier League aside as they are keen to begin their campaign on a fresh note when they meet Burnley in the Premier League this weekend.

The Red Devils have found it difficult in the recent weeks and have been terribly exposed against Chelsea as they eventually lost to a massive 4-0 last weekend making it one of the worst defeats for the club in Premier League history.

Jose Mourinho is expected to field the best possible XI as he is keen to maintain some consistency after their impressive 1-0 win against Manchester City in the EFL Cup clash this mid-week.

Here we look at the possible XI for the all-important fixture for Manchester United.

The Red Devils will have David de Gea who has been in good form and will be an automatic starter for the team given his potential and keeping skills. However, Jose Mourinho will have plenty of a headache when it comes to the selection of central defense.

Eric Bailly who had suffered a knee injury against Manchester City is set to be sidelined for next two months. Chris Smalling still appears to be a doubt for the fixture as the defender is yet to achieve full fitness.

The Portuguese manager is expected to go for Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo in the center of the defense as it will remain a weak link for the club in the match. Antonio Valencia who has been the starter on the right wing is set to start as right back.

While young Luke Shaw who has been impressive is expected to be fielded on the other side of the defense. Marouane Fellaini who has excelled as a defensive midfielder is expected to partner Ander Herrera in the central defensive midfield. The Spaniard has slowly become an important player in the recent weeks with his creativity.

World record signing Paul Pogba is set to be given his favorable No.10 as the Frenchman is slowly getting into his grove at Old Trafford despite being inconsistent. It will be only matter of time before the Premier League might see the Pogba of Juventus.

Juan Mata who has rejuvenated his career at Old Trafford under Mourinho is expected to start on the right wing while young Marcus Rashford who has remained an integral part of the team under Mourinho is set to start on the left wing with Martial still doubtful for the match.

The unavailability of Antony Martial and Wayne Rooney meant Zlatan Ibrahimovic could start as No.9 despite his recent drought where he did not score in five consecutive league games making it the biggest streak for the Swede since 2010.
