Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice on his home debut as Manchester United claimed a comfortable 2-0 win over Southampton in their second Premier League match at Old Trafford.
The Swedish striker headed home Wayne Rooney’s cross from the right in the 36th minute and then added a second 6 minutes after the restart from the penalty spot after Jordy Clasie tripped Luke Shaw. Ibrahimovic has now scored three goals in his first two league games since joining on a free transfer this summer.
United’s £89m world-record signing from Juventus, Paul Pogba also made an impressive full league debut. The victory was United’s second in succession in the league this season after their opening-day win at Bournemouth.
As expected the United fans could not hide their excitement after the win and took to Twitter to express their feelings with special praise for new arrivals Pogba and Ibrahimovic. Here are some of the best reactions:
You know times are changing at Man Utd when it already looks like De Gea won't be Player of the Season for the fourth year running.
