If Manchester United maintain their current form along with other premier league team, then the Red Devils will only manage a fifth place finish in the league, according to stats. If the same trend continues Reds fans may have to wait for another year to enjoy Champions League football.
Louis van Gaal’s side have averaged just 1.7 points per game in their last six league games. If that were to continue until the end of the season, United would have 67 points. That would be enough to finish fifth, should all other Premier League sides maintain their current form as well.
In their last six games, United have won thrice, lost twice and drew just the once. They have managed 10 out of 18 points. The shocking defeats to Southampton at Old Trafford and Swansea City last weekend has dealt a huge blow to the Reds ambition of reaching the top four places.
Chelsea have averaged 2.3 points per game in their last six Premier League matches, which would leave them with 88 points and see them crowned as champions. While, Manchester City, who currently sit in second, have averaged just 1.5 per game in their last six league matches and would finish fourth unless their form improves.

Arsenal would usurp Manuel Pellegrini’s team in second place based on current form. The Gunners have averaged 2.5 points per game, which would leave them with 78 points and they will be runners-up to Chelsea come May.
Liverpool have been the from side recently. The Merseyside outfit have averaged 2.7 points per game in their last six league outings, which would be enough to lift them into third by the end of the season should they maintain that form.
Whereas Southampton’s recent inconsistent form may guarantee them with only a sixth place finish with 66 points and two points below Tottenham Hotspur will lie on seventh if the same scenario continues.
While in bottom of the league, Aston Villa who have lost all of their last six games unsurprisingly would finish bottom of the table if they continue to lose every match. They would be joined by Leicester and Queens Park Rangers if the same trend continues.
However, recent form means their fellow rivals Burnley, Sunderland and Hull City may all pull away from the drop zone if all the clubs maintain the same form.
