Manchester United have decided against releasing Mason Greenwood for the upcoming Premier League season as they have released the full list of players they have retained.
In February this year, the forward had rape and assault charges dropped although he remains suspended by the football club since January 2022. Manchester United are currently carrying out their own internal investigation into his arrest and is likely to be completed soon.
Several reports suggested that Greenwood was unlikely to don the Manchester United shirt again but recently club manager Erik ten Hag hinted that the forward might have a future at Old Trafford. Speaking to The Times, he had said: “[He] showed in the past that he is capable of doing that [scoring goals for United].”
In February, Greenwood had also spoken with the manager after the charges were dropped. And it looks like Manchester United have still not given up on talented forward.

In a statement released on the club’s statement, Manchester United stated that the discussions remain open with David De Gea over a potential new contract, while Tom Heaton and Nathan Bishop have had extensions triggered on their deals.
Defender Phil Jones is not in the roster as he has left the club 12 years and 229 appearances. Apart from him, defender Axel Tuanzebe is departing too after 37 first-team appearances.
