New Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri is keen to have the entire Napoli team at Stamford Bridge, claims Napoli chief Aurelio de Laurentiis. The duo left on bad terms after Sarri got sacked earlier this month.
Sarri got accredited for his incredible revolutionary one-touch football at Naples. This quick movement of the ball had helped Napoli become one of the best teams in Europe last season. However, he was sacked and got replaced by experienced, Carlo Ancelotti. After lengthy discussions, Chelsea decided to name him as the new manager at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri immediately managed to get Jorginho to the club post his arrival. Jorginho was very close to moving to Manchester City, but he moved to Chelsea instead.
The midfielder was very important to Sarri and his system to be implemented at the club. But de Laurentiis accuses Sarri of wanting more Napoli players at his new club.
“I didn’t like when he said that both of us had made errors, because I don’t believe I made any,” De Laurentiis said. “Then, even worse, he wanted dismantle this squad and take it all to England.”
Chelsea have had a tough season under Antonio Conte, as they failed to clinch Champions League spot. The team will now compete in Europa League and should begin freshly under Maurizio Sarri.
Despite Napoli president’s comments, it remains to see if Sarri can get more Napoli players at Chelsea.
Chelsea Facing Pressure in Transfer Market
The Blues are the traditional buyers in the market in their continued pursuit of success.
However, this season looks way different for Chelsea. They might sell all their top players to big clubs and could be left with inferior players.
The primary objective for Sarri is to convince his essential players to stay at the club for next season. Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois are being linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu. On the other hand, winger Willian is drawing plenty of interest from Barcelona.
Although there is still plenty of time in the transfer business, the club will be hoping to keep their leading players.
