Manchester United new and old went at each other during Netherlands’ training camp when Memphis Depay and Robin Van Persie disagreed on few matters and had to be separated by the teammates. Initially, it was believed that the decision to leave Van Persie out of the Kazakhstan match was the reason.
However, Dutch manager Danny Blind came out to clear the air and said that Van Persie was not left out of the team because of that reason, rather he felt that Van Persie was not at his 100% to start a game at that time.
Blind said: “I felt that he was not fit enough to start. I think that’s down to the fact that he has not played without pain for quite a while.”
“He is pain free now and feels 100%,” the coach said. “But I want him to be fit enough to play the full 90 minutes. That’s why I did not play him as support striker against Kazakhstan. He is fit enough for the match against Czech Republic, but I will have to make choices.”
Since leaving Manchester United, Van Persie has not been a happy bunny as he is not happy with life in Turkey and the level of football he is playing right now is not pleasing him at all. According to reports, Van Persie’s international career could be in danger after the striker was brought on for his 100th game by the manager almost signaling it as the last hurrah before the eventual shocker.
