Manchester United midfielder is expected to move to Serie A with Italian giants AC Milan reportedly interested in the midfielder’s services for the next season. The 33-year old mid-fielder will run out of his contract at Old Trafford this summer and will be available for free.

Michael Carrick has been an important figure in Louis van Gaal’s side despite the arrival of many new signings. He is already offered a one year contract extension to his current contract which tie to the Red Devils till June 2016. However, the veteran midfielder is considering his options for his future and he is yet to sign on the contract extension.

Mean While, AC Milan are considering to re-build their squad after a dismal season with Nigel de Jong leaving the Italian club this summer on a free transfer. Carrick will be a perfect replacement for de Jong at AC Milan as the midfielder provides shield to the defence from being exposed on counter-attacks.

Also Nigel de Jong is a key transfer target for Louis van Gaal with the manager working with de Jong during his term with Netherlands National team. With AC Milan yet again missing European place, the future is looking bleak and to sign an experienced midfielder like Carrick would be priceless for them.
