After failing to win their last two matches, Liverpool returned to winning ways and moved second of the Premier League table after a convincing 3-0 win over Middlesbrough.
The Anfield outfit arrived at the Riverside low on confidence after winning just one match in their last 4 outings. But Jurgen Klopp’s men roared back to form in an emphatic manner as they once again proved their title credentials this term. Adam Lallana opened the scoring in the 29th minute when he headed home a fine cross from Nathaniel Clyne. The Reds went into the break with one goal lead and started the second half in fine fashion. Sadio Mane was denied twice before Divock Origi doubled the visitors’ lead from a Lallana cross. Origi returned the favour eight minutes later when he provided an assist to the England international to score his second goal of the match and put the game to bed.
With this win, the Merseyside outfit is six points behind leaders Chelsea, who won at Sunderland but reclaimed the second place after Arsenal’s defeat by Everton on Tuesday.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the match:
Aitor Karanka: "I think they (Liverpool) are the best team we've faced this season. They were much better than us."

Liverpool are easily the best attacking side i've seen come to the Riverside. Their fans were class too. Hope they win the league. #LFC

MOTM Lallana scores the 3rd for the Reds. Not just the goals, he helped midfield to build up and ran to help Milner every time ? !!

No Englishman playing better than Adam Lallana in @premierleague right now & very few of the foreign ones also! #LFC

Lallana is just unbelievable. In the form of his life.

Hold up why isn't Origi getting all hyped up by the media?? Man has scored 5 in 5, imagine that was Martial or Pogba??

Origi is so underrated on here, lowkey having a quality season for Liverpool, top player considering his age, huge future ahead #midliv

Origi’s underrated because of the number illusion. Looks average wearing #27. Give him the #9 and he’ll look world class.

Liverpool have been superb in this second half – easily the slickest attacking side I've seen all season. #Boro 0-3
