Milan was the Team that Stuck Me the Most – Gonzalo Higuain
After a lot of drama and speculations, the three-way deal finally got finalised. Juventus’ Gonzalo Higuain has moved to AC Milan on a loan deal with an option to buy, while Mattia Caldara and Leonardo Bonucci returning to the club.
Despite being wanted by Chelsea, Higuain’s heart stuck at AC Milan.
Before heading to AC Milan, Higuain got heavily linked with the English club, Chelsea. He also revealed in the press conference of Milan that only Chelsea’s manager wanted him, while the whole Milan wanted him and that made the difference. Higuain said in the press conference,
“In total sincerity, the esteem I have for Sarri is huge, but he was the only who wanted me. Here at Milan, everyone wanted me, and this is why I made my choice to come here.”
Higuain also said the history of Milan gives him goosebumps.
“I have been playing in Europe for 12 years, Milan was the team that struck me the most, it’s what the player wants to see: History, lots of green, pure football. It gives you goosebumps; it’s special stuff.”
Higuain joined Juventus from Napoli in 2016. He scored a total of 55 goals in 105 appearances. The striker also scored 92 goals in 147 appearances in Naples and netted 122 goals in 264 games for Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, for Juventus, the days keep getting better for the Seria A champions. After Cristiano Ronaldo signed with Juventus, they have pulled off an incredible swap deal. Bonucci’s comeback has made their defence even stronger than before, and they are all set to target the Champions League once again.
But for Caldera, things have gone a little bit different. The player wanted to stay in Juventus, as his dream was to play alongside Ronaldo. In the end, Juventus had to shatter his dreams to complete the swap deal.
