Former Tottenham striker Emanuel Adebayor has been in negotiations with Chelsea, along with rumours of joining West Ham or Watford FC.
The Togo international was released by Tottenham at the beginning of this season and the striker has contacted other premier league clubs since he wants
to remain in London at present.
Adebayor is being paid £100,000-per-week by Spurs, which will continue until his contract expires next summer.
Clubs interested to sign Adebayor will have to deal with Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy who is a notorious and tough businessman according to pundits.
Adebayor is being offered to Chelsea as it may help them resolve their striker issues with Radamel Falcao probably leaving the club.
With Diego Costa misfiring badly in almost every game, Adebayor would help leading the attack up-front at Chelsea if given the chance.
As per reports, Chelsea have their eyes set on Jamie Vardy as their prime target in the January transfer window, though Claudio Ranieri is firm that both
Jamie and Riyad are not leaving the club in January at any cost.
Adebayor’s interest to stay in London shows that he is fit enough for a Premier league return.
The 31 year old striker wants to continue his career after Tottenham released him in September, after being frozen out under Mauricio Pochettino at White
Hart Lane.
The striker has 41 goals to his name in 106 games for Spurs, which is quite impressive, but did not fit into Mauricio’s style of play unfortunately.
The striker is available for free transfer, since his contract was terminated outside the transfer window and he will be able to return to football as soon as
the January transfer window starts in some weeks.
The striker would be more than happy if he is signed by any of the clubs and he is under transfer news only due to the fact that he is an
experienced, proven goal scorer.
