Mohun Bagan before their campaign in the I-League on Saturday against Aizwal FC of Mizoram at Barasat Stadium has again been plagued by the financial crisis as it fell in the trouble before their campaign in the I-league last season. The players will be stepping onto the ground at the Barasat Stadium on Saturday evening without getting last four-month salary.

The club officials, however, had promised them to clear their dues in the early November. But the players received a paltry amount of their dues only from club president Swapan Sadhan Bose at the end of November. And despite the officials’ promise of clearing the dues the players have not been cleared yet.

Club’s football secretary Satyajit Chatterjee also a former footballer said on Friday, “All the footballers will receive their dues by the first week of their engagement in the I-League. They should not be worried at all.”

And Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen also tried to cover up the issue when he said on Friday, “There are a lot of difficulties. But victory covers up every crisis ultimately. I have tried to convince the footballers in this way. And they also are ready for the battle this time and seem to be energized to defend their title.”

Lenny Rodiguez, the dependable midfielder who had an excellent show in the ISL, has been ruled out of Mohun Bagan’s opening match on Saturday due to injury.
