Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been charged with misconduct by the English Football Association after his comments following Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat to Southampton on Saturday.

The Portuguese manager was furious with the referee Bobby Madley denying Radamel Falcao what he thought was a clear penalty kick in the second half with the game tied at 1-1.

Madley booked Falcao for diving and Saints went on to win the game, which added to his frustrations.

After the match, Mourinho gave a seven-minute post match interview and said, ‘Referees are afraid o giving decisions to Chelsea’.

In a statement onMonday the FA said that,

“Jose Mourinho has been charged for misconduct in relation to media comments he made following Chelsea’s game against Southampton on Saturday 3 October 2015.

“It is alleged his remarks constitute improper conduct in that they allege and/or imply bias on the part of a match official or match officials and/or bring the game into disrepute.

“He has until 6 pm on Thursday 8 October 2015 to respond to the charge.”

Mourinho is having a frustrating campaign with Chelsea and also a campaign full of controversies.

First the Eva Carneiro saga, then the Diego Costa saga and now this.
