In the last two trips to the Allianz Arena, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal have conceded 10 goals scoring just the two and their latest loss has all but pushed them out of the Champions League at an early stage yet again this season.
There were some humiliating performances from the players, not just in this game but since the turn of the year and the manager will want to let go of all such players in the summer at the end of the season.
However, Wenger will also have to work hard to secure the futures of star players at the club and one player who is now proving to be a headache for Arsene Wenger is Chilean international Alexis Sanchez.
The former Barcelona man, joined the Gunners a couple of years ago and has ever since turned into one of the most influential players, not just at the Emirates but also in the league.
He is currently the top goal scorer for Arsenal in all competitions and was the scorer of the only goal in the night in Germany.
The 27-year old has been frustrated with the way his side have been playing in recent times and though he has been offered a new contract a long time ago, he is yet to commit his future to the club.
And the Gunners were distraught at the sight of the winger collapsing on the sideline at the Allianz Arena after his side conceded the 5th of the night.
Sanchez has just over 18 months left on his contract and Wenger will hope that he signs a new deal but there are a couple of European giants, including the likes of PSG and Juventus, who are interested in his signature and Sanchez might be tempted to quit the Emirates at the end of the season.
He will surely find it hard to make up his mind but millions of fans from his home country are now hoping to make it easy for him.
According to a Facebook Page, Thousands of Chileans are set to march in a protest organized to convince Alexis Sanchez to leave Arsenal this summer.
The page was set up in reaction to Arsenal’s humiliating 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday and will take place in Santiago, Chile on March 1st.
It already has over 4,000 attendees and is expected to be a huge success but we have to wait and see if it has an effect on the 27-year old.
The description on the page reads:
‘We, as Chileans are tired to watch one of our biggest stars play on his own to make his team get through.’
‘We don’t want him to play at Real Madrid, nor go back to Barcelona, we don’t give a f*** where he plays, we just want him to fight along with 10 other players to get the results.
‘He doesn’t deserve to be alone.’
