Yet another blow for Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho as he could be banned from the touchline in Saturday’s crucial Premier League showdown against Liverpool if the Portuguese doesn’t make any appeal in response to the latest FA charge.

Mourinho is right now facing a punishment as he was charged with misconduct for arguing with referee Jon Moss at half time of Saturday’s defeat against West Ham. The Chelsea boss was very angry with the match officials after Moss ruled out two Chelsea goals, sent off Nemanja Matic showing double yellow and also sent Mourinho’s assistant Silvino Louro to the stands.

The Daily Star reporting, the Portuguese manager who was also ordered to the stands during Saturday’s match, could be punished on next Friday; and if that happens, the he will not be able to give orders from the touchline during the much anticipated clash against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Reports have already suggested Mourinho will be sacked if Chelsea fails to beat Liverpool on Saturday. In a disastrous start to the season the Blues have managed to win only 3 of their opening 10 Premier League matches.

Mourinho has until 6pm on coming Thursday to contest the FA’s charge, which will then go before the disciplinary committee, who can enforce either a ban or fine.

There is also a possibility of no verdict until after this weekend, in that case the ban will come into force when Chelsea play Stoke City away, on next week’s Saturday fixture. But the FA yesterday confirmed the decision could as early as this Friday. If that’s the case then the ban would be for the upcoming Liverpool match.
