Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that the Red Devils have rejected West Bromwich Albion’s bid for out of favour midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
With chances hard to come by, Schneiderlin has been linked with a move away from the Old Trafford and speculations were rife that he would be released by Mourinho after West Brom registered a reported £13m offer for him. However, Mourinho has ended all those speculations by saying that the club will not sell any player in January.
Speaking before the clash against Bournemouth, the Portuguese said: “We have not received one single offer that we are going to accept.”
Anthony Martial has also been linked with a loan move to La Liga outfit Sevilla but Mourinho, it seems, is adamant on not letting any player leave in the upcoming transfer window.
Mourinho said:“I don’t want to sell players. The club and the board is totally with me, but as I told before if a player is not having lots of minutes and really wants to leave, we have no right to stop him leaving if the conditions are our conditions.”
“Sam Johnstone is the only player that I allow to go on loan. He doesn’t play one minute and he needs to play. We have a young keeper in Joel [Pereira], he played many minutes in the last six months in Portuguese PL, so now is the time to play six months for Sam,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mourinho would be hoping his team continues the recent impressive form when they take on Bournemouth at Old Trafford on New Year’ eve. After some poor results, the Red Devils have finally started doing well and have won the last four games in the Premier League to revive their hopes of a top-four finish.
