Mourinho Names World’s Best Midfielder Currently And Receives Epic Banters 1

Jose Mourinho watched on as his Manchester United side recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford this afternoon.

The Red Devils outclassed David Moyes’ men – with the goals coming from Daley Blind, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and this extraordinary effort from Henrikh Mkhitaryan – to register their fourth straight Premier League victory.

Ibrahimovic, for scoring and providing two assists, is surely the leading contender to win United’s Man of the Match award, which is voted for by the fans. Mkhitaryan might also be in with a shout after scoring what will be a serious contender for the Goal of the Season award.

But it was another player who secured WhoScored’s Man of the Match accolade.

Paul Pogba, the world’s most expensive footballer, was outstanding from start to finish and, although he didn’t score, it was his overall contribution which caught the eye.

The France international provided the assist for Ibrahimovic’s goal and generally looked a cut above his opponents.

Is there a better midfielder in the Premier League right now?

Not according to Mourinho. In fact, the Portuguese coach believes there’s not a better midfield player on the planet at this moment in time.

Speaking exclusively to SFR Sport – with the quotes translated by Get French Football – before the Sunderland match, Mourinho said: “If the perception change, Paul can win it because Paul is not a goalscorer, Paul is a midfielder [that] will score more and more goals. Because I think he has conditions to score goals. But Paul is a midfield player. In my opinion, the best. The best midfield player in the world.”
