Speaking to reporters before the tie against Leicester, Mourinho started the proceeding by assuring the reporters that there are no new injuries to be reported which is shining light in the dark season that they have experienced so far.

Chelsea face table toppers Leicester City on Monday and would like to take away three points from the fixture to make this month a good one. When talking about his opponents, Jose highly praised Leicester City’s campaign this season and said, “First of all they deserve to be where they are. I said before they can’t be champions, maybe I have to think twice.” Mourinho also added that if the club happen to win the league then it will be one of the greatest achievements for the team and its manager, Claudio Raneiri. “Last year, Raneiri was sacked by Greece for Faroe Islands. Now, top of the league. It’s exciting” said the Special one in praise of the Foxes boss. Returning Raneiri’s favour in supporting Chelsea and saying that they might end up in the top 4, Mourinho too heaped praise on the man who rules at the Kings Power stadium and said that “I think he won manager of the month. He should win manager of the half-term, the first six months.”

From Ranieri to Monk, Jose shared his opinion on everything. He called Monk a victim of the entire saga that unfolded at the Liberty stadium and that it was just unfortunate. Moving on to talking about his team and players; the Blues boss said that it has been a difficult season and that everybody is coming around. It has been a taxing time for everyone at Stamford Bridge and yet the fans have been relentless. When asked about the fan support for him Mourinho wittily said that they remember everything from his achievements with the club to the pathetic season that it has been so far.

Mourinho is a master of mind games and leaves people second guessing. Thus this press conference was no different as when asked about a potential move back to Madrid, the Portuguese simply said “I imagine finishing my contract at Chelsea. After that, I imagine myself coaching any club”. Touché Jose touché!
