Chelsea is all set to play against Tottenham on 29th November at White Hart Lane. While Tottenham occupy a decent 5th place in the league table Chelsea enjoy life at the bottom of the table sitting at No. 15. As Mourinho in his press conference said “the reality is that we need points”, Chelsea will enter the game with the intention of grabbing those three points by hook or by crook.

But proving to be a dent in those winning plans are the injuries to skipper John Terry and defender Ramires. Both of them are going to give Courtois company on the bench. When asked about how he decides to fill the gap in the defence, Mourinho said “today JT didn’t train but we have little hope it’s possible. I have complete faith in Cahill and Zouma.” Djilabodji, who Mourinho wasn’t that keen on signing, makes his way into the squad finally getting game time after limited spell in the Blue shirt.

On his opponent and the man who can pose to be big threat for the Blues, the Specail one brushed it off casually by saying “Obviously it’s not difficult to feel Harry Kane is a good striker.”

Furthermore the Blues boss also enumerated how he doesn’t necessarily have advantage over Spurs on account of their Europa league campaign leading to fatigue in their players, he said “Between Athletico semi- finals a year ago, (we) had Liverpool. If this country decided then it wasn’t a problem for Chelsea it isn’t a problem for Tottenham.”

Chelsea’s season has been far from the brilliance that was a epitomised by Chelsea’s 2014-15 campaign and Mourinho understands the grave situation they are in. “Our only goal now is to try to get into position where we can smell the top end of the league. We are all focused on doing our job the best we can. The only thing we can do is try to get maximum amount of points.”

Mourinho heaped praise on Vardy and Leicester City’s campaign this season saying that “they can win the title if everyone of the traditional candidates does it so bad”.  Furthermore on being asked whether he would scout the market in January for replacements, the boss stated that he won’t ask the board for any new players and the club shall not be indulging in any business in January. Is Mourinho trying to cosy up to the board after they showed their support for him? Well its football and it’s the Special One!
