Muller could follow Schweinsteiger after fellow German convinced him to join United
Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller is all set to join Manchester United this summer following the footsteps of Bastian Schweinsteiger this summer. Daily Express claims that the German attacker who has had several fallouts with manager Pep Guardiola in the past might move out. Muller has heard from Schweinsteiger how the United fans welcomed the German maestro this summer. Also a move from Bayern to Old Trafford might result in a hike in his wages too.
Manchester United have been monitoring Thomas Muller since the beginning of this season. They were keen on signing the German as they need a proper striker. Muller is a very versatile player who can play in almost any position in the attacking third. The Red Devils since last season are on a spending spree to bolster their squad. In this season they have bought 5 players so far but a big money signing is yet to be made. They have offloaded Angel Di Maria already to PSG. They might also sell goalkeeper David De Gea to Real Madrid for a hefty sum. This might help them to place huge bid for the German star.
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, though had claimed that they wont be selling any of their stars this summer to any club. He had also mocked the inability of Premier League clubs to lure their players irrespective of having a healthy purchasing power.
It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can actually bring home Thomas Muller this summer. They apparently had already placed a 100 million Euros bid which was rejected by the Bavarian club.
United have so far procured all six points from their first two matches but club captain Wayne Rooney has failed to impress as a forward. Thomas Muller’s addition might solve the club’s problems relating to a prolific striker.
