The relation between Manchester United’s Anthony Martial and Jose Mourinho has not gone too well in the recent past.
And it took a new turn when Mourinho criticised Martial for returning to France during the club’s US tour.
Manchester United’s Anthony Martial recently became a father.
Anthony Martial has now hit back at his manager saying,
“Sorry, but my family will always come before everything.” on his Twitter account.
The winger returned to France last week to be with his girlfriend for the birth of their child. After Martial left the US tour, Jose Mourinho told MUTV –
“Anthony Martial has the baby and after the baby is born – beautiful baby, full of health, thank God – he should be here, and he is not here.”
The manager continued to criticise the young player and also hinted that he might not return to the club. Manchester United won 2-1 against Real Madrid in their International Champions Cup clash on Wednesday.
After being criticised, the Frenchman has now taken to Twitter to provide the update on his situation. He thanked his well-wishers and said both his girlfriend and baby are doing fine.
“Thank you all for your messages. My little Swan is fine. For the mother, it was more difficult but thank god she is better now, Sorry, but my family will always come before everything… Back tomorrow in Manchester.”

Time has not gone too well for Martial at the Old Trafford after Mourinho took over Louis Van Gaal. In his debut season under Van Gaal, he played 31 Premier League games, making 29 starts and scoring 11 goals.
While under Jose Mourinho, over the past two seasons Anthony Martial got an opportunity to play only 25 and 30 league games. In both of the seasons, he started in 18 games.
Manchester United will play their last pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.
