Reminded boys about Istanbul win: Liverpool coach Klopp

Liverpool will try to put back their loss against their nemesis Manchester United last week with a win on their trip to Norwich City. It is supposed to be a relatively easy game for the Reds but stranger things have happened in football.

Most of the week, Liverpool were linked to Shaktar player Alex Teixeira with reports saying that the Reds are closing in on a deal. In his press conference ahead of the Norwich game, Jurgen Klopp was asked about any developments but the German gave nothing away.

When asked, Klopp said,” No. Nothing to say about this. I could say a lot about a lot of players.”

When asked more about transfers, he added, “If you are under pressure people want prices which you think are crazy. It’s not a perfect time to buy but we have to watch the market. If we find a solution and a player who can help us then we’ll try. “I think I always said if our situation changed then we would have to change. If there’s a good player who can help us then we think about it.”

Klopp revealed yet another blow for the Liverpool squad as midfielder Adam Lallana has picked up a problem and will be out of the Norwich game. When asked about team news, the German said, “At the moment there are no new big problems but could be big enough that we have to change a few things.

“Adam Lallana is a little bit in doubt. He’s here and trained yesterday, but not normal training. He had a little issue but we have to see, we have to wait until training today to see.

“It was a little bit of a muscle [problem] only in the Manchester United game. Afterwards, he needed a little bit longer to recover and now we have to see if we have enough time to bring him back.

“I think that’s the only new one. From the others, no players are back.”

Daniel Sturridge has been under speculation of a move away from the club. Klopp insisted he is ready to give time to the striker but gave an update on his return. Jurgen Klopp said that Sturridge will be out for about two weeks.

“The last four days were really good and he could do what he had to do. In this moment, he is in a good way but still needs time. I can’t change it.

“So there’s nothing really new in this situation – it is training. But, to be honest, the last four days were good and hopefully he can do it like this for the next four or five days and then it will have been 10 days, which is better than only two.

“Then we have to see where he is and how the situation is, and we can hopefully decide if it’s time for him.”

Klopp also spoke about the Belgian forward who has been under scrutiny recently.  Klopp said, “Sometimes he tried too hard but he knows where a goal is. It’s something we need to develop together. He knows what we want to do.”

“Everyone could see v Exeter he was involved in 2 of the 3 goals. He’s working hard. His attitude was really good.”

Klopp also acknowledged the threat his weekend opponents pose. He said “They have had some problems in defence, less in an offence. But they are creative and quick, but they conceded easy goals. But they have changed this situation, taking Wolfsburg defender Tim Klose, I know him he’s really good.

“We are the first team who have to play about their new team.

Naismith made a move to Norwich from Everton and may find himself starting against Liverpool. About the striker, Klopp said, “Steven Naismith is a really good player. I saw him live for Scotland and was really impressed. He’s a danger.”
