Jürgen Klopp is facing an anxious wait as he prepares for his first Liverpool game in charge against Tottenham this weekend. The preparations are not going on smoothly as his No.2 Zeljko Buvac is still waiting for the work permit.

The Bosnian has not yet been able to team up with the German boss. Klopp prefers to call Buvac as the “brain” of his coaching team.

Klopp has known Buvac since they were teammates at the German’s one and only club as a player, Mainz in the early 1990s. After that Buvac became Klopp’s main assistant when the German was managing Mainz starting his coaching career, the relationship continued to Borussia Dortmund also, when Klopp was appointed as Dortmund’s boss in 2008. So overall, for 14 years the two guys worked together.

Liverpool is still hopeful; Buvac will get the clearance and will be present at White Hart Lane on Saturday when Jürgen Klopp’s regime at Liverpool begins.

In the meantime, Klopp’s other assistant Peter Krawietz is with the Liverpool players who are not in international duty currently. The Reds’ new boss also meeting up with his new brigade step by step. He completed his second session on Tuesday and had a discussion with three England players Adam Lallana, Danny Ings and Nathaniel Clyne. Hungarian keeper Adam Bogdan and German Emre Can was also present in that session.
