Neymar would rather join Manchester United than any other in a spectacular summer transfer deal. After six years, Paris Saint-Germain believes that the moment is right to split company with the Brazilian superstar, who is due to be offloaded in the summer.

The electrifying winger decided to leave Barcelona in 2017 for a world-record fee of €222 million, but injuries have plagued him recently. PSG are eager to recuperate a fee before his lucrative deal expires in 2025. Neymar too has accepted he has no future at the Parc des Princes and  is now focused on getting a move to Old Trafford.

Neymar is more firm on his decision-making when it comes to his contentious future since, according to reports, as he only sees himself playing for United or PSG in the coming season. The 31-year-old is reportedly drooling over the possibility of strutting his stuff at Old Trafford, although he’d be content to stay put at the Parc des Princes, according to Foot Mercato, despite recent links to Arsenal and Manchester City.

The report adds that Neymar’s probable sale is linked with the impending Qatari acquisition of United and that Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag last week refused to rule out a move for the Brazilian. The Gulf state already has close ties with PSG and now Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is competing with INEOS CEO Sir Jim Ratcliffe to succeed the Glazer family in Manchester.

Recent reports from the French publication L’Equipe suggested that United were in advanced negotiations to recruit the Brazilian international, who had previously turned down a lucrative offer from an undisclosed Saudi Arabian club. Manchester City, a fierce rival of United, as well as the former club Barcelona have also been mentioned in the running.

With an ankle injury in March, Neymar was told he would miss the remainder of the season. During his recovery, he has been mum about his future plans. While the PSG winger reaffirmed his intention to stay with the Ligue 1 champions last summer, it now seems that the PSG management wants a new beginning since things have changed.

Neymar, though, is eager to sign with Manchester United and has no interest in leaving PSG for any other team. The veteran will likely play on the left wing if he joins the Carabao Cup winners in the summer. The former Santos prodigy is as adept at playing as a free-roaming No.10, as he proved with Brazil.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi, Neymar’s former Barcelona teammate, is also leaving the club after failing to win the coveted Champions League during his two seasons there. The World Cup champion has had offers to play in Saudi Arabia and the United States. Elsewhere, Barcelona too are putting enormous efforts to bring him back to Camp Nou and form a deadly attacking pair of Messi and Lewandowski.
