The third round draw fro English League Cup namely “Capital One Cup” has taken place and we will see the North London derby as Spurs will host Arsenal.

The matches will begin from 21st September. 

Spurs, who beat Arsenal 5-1 on aggregate on their way to winning the competition in 2008 and who lost to Chelsea in last season’s final, will host their north London rivals at White Hart Lane.

The two teams last met in the competition in 2011, when Arsenal won 4-1 on their way to the final, where they lost to 2-1 to Birmingham.

Holders Chelsea begin their defence of the trophy with a trip to League One Walsall, while Aston Villa will host local rivals Birmingham City.

Elsewhere, Manchester United and Liverpool were given home ties against Ipswich Town and Carlisle respectively.

There are three more ties between Premier League sides: Sunderland host Manchester City, Norwich host West Brom and Leicester host West Ham.

Meanwhile, Championship Preston’s reward for knocking out top-flight Watford is a home draw against another newly promoted Premier League side, Bournemouth.

There is also a derby match-up south of the river in the capital, with Crystal Palace welcoming Charlton to Selhurst Park.
