Arsenal have offered a professional contract for academy player Edward Nketiah after his impressive performances for the youth team.
The 17-year old has joined Arsenal from their cross-city rivals Chelsea in 2015 and have grown into an exciting talent and as a future prospect for the club.
Nketiah have scored an unbelievable 24 goals last season in just 28 appearances for Arsenal Under-18s last season and has drawn attention from the club officials. The young teenage striker have continued his fine form into the current season as he has already netted four goals in three appearances so far.
Arsenal released a statement on their website which read: “Eddie has impressed with his speed and finishing skills ever since his arrival at our Hale End academy in 2015.
“We would like to congratulate Eddie on his new contract, and look forward to his continued progress with the club.”
The teenager also expressed his happiness over signing a new contract as he tweeted: “Happy to sign my first professional contract with Arsenal, I thank god for blessing me with this opportunity.”

Considering the striker crisis that Arsenal is facing since the departure of Robin van Persie, the Gooners hope that the teenager growth continues as he looks to become the next big striker in Premier League.
Arsenal are still struggling this season despite signing Lucas Perez as their striker as both Giroud and Perez has failed to impress so far in the season. Nketiah is hoping to continue his development as he has good chances of breaking into the first team in the coming years with his immense finishing skills which are going to be an asset for the club.
The 17-year old is also strong defensively and an excellent dribbler which makes him the complete package for Arsenal. The young striker is set to feature in the game against Chelsea U-18 this weekend at Cobham Training Centre.
