Liverpool conceded 50 goals last season more than any other side in the top 5 of the Premier League and Rodgers was surely looking to strengthen his defence this summer. Moreno, 22, was on Liverpool’s radar after an impressive season with Sevilla. The Spainish international was part of Sevilla’s Europa League winning side. Rodgers wanted Moreno to replace Aly Cissokho, after deciding not to sign him permanently.Liverpool completed a £12 m deal for Alberto Moreno this week and can prove to be a bargain for this price.
After signing for Liverpool, Moreno told the official Liverpool website that former Liverpool player Xabi Alonso told him to sign for Liverpool.

“They all told me I can grow a lot here as a footballer as this is a massive club. I’m very happy to be joining a club as big as Liverpool. I hope to give my best and do all I can to help.”
