Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Hoffenheim forward Roberto Firmino for £29 million which amkes him the second most expensive signing in Liverpool history, subject to a pending medical.
The 23-year-old is currently in Chile on international duty with Brazil, and will complete the formalities after his participation at the Copa America with Brazil, the club announced.

Firmino has penned a four-and-a-half year contract with the Anfield side, for a fee believed to be in the region of £29 million.
Rivals Manchester United seemed the likely destination for the former Figueirense forward, but Liverpool have acted quickly to secure one of Bundesliga’s standout players.
This comes after the player’s agent Roger Wittmann confirmed that his client is moving to England. “All I can say is that he’s moving to England,” he told Germany’s Bild.
Along with the confirmation of Firmino, Inter’s Croatian attacking-midfieler Mateo Kovacic and Zenit Saint Petersburg striker Solomon Rondon are mooted as the next possible arrivals at Anfield.
