Arsenal fans can heave a huge sigh of relief as Olivier Giroud’s agent has claimed that the forward is staying at the Emirates.
Speculations were rife surrounding his future at the club after he lost his starting place to Alexis Sanchez. He had publicly expressed his disappointment over a lack of playing time and was then linked with a January move to AC Milan which had raised doubts over his future. He has grown more frustrated in recent times as despite being in good form, he is not finding a place in the starting eleven due to Alexis Sanchez’s brilliant displays in front of the goal. He has made just two starts this season – both in the Champions League – but has scored five goals, including the equaliser against Manchester United. And with Danny Welbeck returning from injury and Lucas Perez in fine form, the France international is set to face more competition for his place.

However, his agent, Michael Manuello has said that the forward is going nowhere in January.
“Olivier is very well at Arsenal,” Manuello told Foot Mercato.
“He will make his season here. Nothing is possible in January. He has no plans to move during the winter transfer window “
Last month, Giroud said he was not worried about his long-term future with the club, despite his lack of playing time this season.
“I have no doubts over my Arsenal future,” he said.
“As with each year, there is competition for places at the big clubs. There are a lot of attackers with different styles of play.”
The news will be very much welcomed by the club who are trying hard to keep two of their most important players- Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil at the club. Both the players have not signed a contract extension yet and are heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates.
