A new twist in the Pedro transfer tale as Guardian reports that FC Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez is now skeptical of joining Manchester United as he is afraid of Dutch manager Louis van Gaal.

Yes you heard it right, the Spanish star is apprently afraid of how Louis van Gaal handles Spanish players of Manchester United. The Dutchman had a row with former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes this season as the custodian was advised to leave the club. Valdes had joined United last January and mostly playerd for club’s youth team. He just played one match for the club in the last game of the season against Hull City. The 33-year-old Spanish international refused to continue with the youth team as he wanted to be a part of the core group, thus he had a fallout with Louis van Gaal.

Also Van Gaal is yet to solve the problem relating to the transfer of David De Gea. The club had refused to sell the Spanish star to Real Madrid this summer but the manager kept the goalkeeper out of the match squad in two consecutive games. Louis van Gaal even claimed that De Gea does not want to play for the club anymore.

After looking at how the Dutch manager is treating his team’s Spanish players, Pedro is reportedly skeptical to join United this summer. Also Pedro shares a very close relation with Valdes which might convince him to choose any other club over Manchester United.

Other than United, Manchester City too are keen on signing the player. The Cityzens were initially targetting Wolfsburg’s Kevin De Bruyne, but recent media reports suggest that the club might consider Pedro to be an alternative if De Bruyne deal falters. Kevin De Bruyne’s agent had confirmed earlier that the player would not give a transfer request the club which came as a huge blow for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

As an alternative Pedro would be a great buy for the club as he will join the likes of David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Yaya Toure in the midifield. It will be interesting to see if Louis van Gaal actually becomes an intimidating factor for Pedr and the player opts to either stay back or move to Etihaad this season.
