Rumours have been flying around Europe about Pep Guardiola’s relationship with Bayer Munich players has took a wrong turn, but the Spaniard has refused those claims, saying that are imaginations of some people.
Meanwhile, club director Karl-Heinze Rummenigge has backed the manager, saying he has got all the support from everybody at Allianz Arena.
Pep Guardiola is regarded as one of the modern greats when it comes to Managerial skills, but he declined to oblige himself to the Bavarians for long-term, and is all set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season. This already renowned fact is speculated to be the ‘watering source’ for alleged sour friendship between the boss and other staffs plus players.
Nonetheless, Guardiola has lashed these rumours, and now explains he is in great chemistry with his fellow colleagues at Germany.
“My relationship with the players is better than ever before,” Guardiola spoke at a news conference.
“Whenever I say something, it’s in the papers the days after. I experienced something similar in my first year and in my second year as well, while it also happened in July. I am not too worried about it. I tried to fight it in my first year, but that does not lead to anything. I always want the best for my players with everything I do.”
Guardiola also spoke about the reports from pre-season when media said Guardiola got angry with some players for their lack of professionalism.
“I have read about the alleged lack of professionalism,” Pep Guardiola added.
“Over the past two seasons, some players returned to the club two to three kilograms overweight. But, we trained really well this winter in Qatar. It’ is only normal to check your players’ weight. Coaches across the world do the same. The names of the players with weight issues?”
“We will keep that to ourselves. There is absolutely no problem with that e-mail. We get a lot of e-mails from the team manager.”
Guardiola is widely expected to join English Premier League, with a bunch of Premier League elites are waiting for his signature.
