The atmosphere was buzzing at the Etihad after the home side clinched a dramatic victory over Dortmund. While City dominated the majority if the game with 76% possession to their name yielding 12 shots, it was their striker Haaland’s former club which took a shock lead through Bellingham. The 19-year-old scored a brilliant header as he left behind his markers to meet a Marco Reus cross.

A resilient City responded in the final ten minutes of the game, as John Stones fired a bullet from the edge of the penalty box in the 80th minute which was no match for Dortmund shot-stopper Alexander Meyer. Haaland then completed the comeback four minutes later as he defied the gravity to meet a delicious outside-of-the-foot cross from Joao Cancelo mid-air to push it past Meyer.

Pep Guardiola’s men held it for another six minutes plus the injury time as they bagged another three points. However, the former Barcelona coach didn’t seem much happy as he went straight towards the referee at the full time whistle to fiercely argue his point. He was joined by Phil Foden who both tried to make their point. Guardiola then appears to shout “f*** off” at Orsato who flashes a yellow at the manager.

It was then the City coach calmly hugs the referee and cools down the situation, before walking away. In his post match presser, Pep said on the yellow card: “I deserved it [the yellow card]. I apologise to him [referee Orsato].”
