Chelsea manager has revealed that he is absolutely powerless in stopping Petr Cech from joining Arsenal in the summer.
Cech has announced his decision to quit Stamford Bridge after 10 successful seasons. Cech has revealed that he is 99% sure of leaving the club in the summer with several clubs chasing for his signature.
Player’s agent has revealed a 3-name shortlist for Cech’s next club and they are Arsenal, PSG and Manchester United.
If we consider Mourinho’s words after the West Brom game we can understand that Cech will indeed make his move and a possible switch to the London rivals Arsenal looks the most likely.
Mourinho said: “It’s not in my hands. My perfect scenario is that he stays with us, I think he belongs to this club, this club belongs to his history and to his life, too.
“He is a fantastic keeper, fantastic dressing room and squad man. I tried to prove the respect I have for him. I played him in the cups, gave him matches in the Premier League.
“I can imagine that a 32 or 33 year old keeper feels young and feels the passion to play every game.”
Chelsea have promised not to come in between Cech’s move to Arsenal since he has been a loyal servant to the club and it has indeed made the way clear for Arsene Wenger to sign the player, IF HE SEES FIT.
Manchester United would be keeping a close eye on the matter as well since they are facing a small dilemma of their own in David De Gea’s refusal to sign an extension to his contract. If De Gea leaves, Cech would be easily the next best option for Louis Van Gaal.
Cech’s decision could be moved by the fact that his entire family is based in London and they love the city thus moving to Arsenal would take care of that aspect as well.
On the face of it, Cech to Arsenal seems the most obvious choice at the moment but we do need to wait for the official announcement which is expected to come in coming weeks.
