PFA have revealed team of the year for Premier League. There are 6 players who have made the cut while Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Southampton have 1 player each in the team of the year.
Here is PFA’s team of the year which sees the best 11 players from Premier League over the 2014-15 season.
Goal Keeper

David De Gea (Manchester United)
Defenders

John terry (Chelsea), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea), Ryan Bertrand (Southampton)
Midfielders

Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal), Nemanja Matic (Chelsea), Phillippe Coutinho (Liverpool), Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
Strikers
Harry Kane (Tottenham) Diego Costa (Chelsea)
All the selections look straightforward given how these players have performed over the entire season. Only debatable selections for me are Gary Cahill and Philippe Coutinho.
Cahill has often lost his spot to Kurt Zouma when Chelsea have come against bigger and stronger opponents so his selections do raise some eye brows. In my view, Southampton’s Jose Fonte could have been better suited for PFA’s team of the year.
Another decision which I cannot fathom is Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian playmaker had a brilliant 2 month spell where he scored and assisted for fun but lately he had not been influencing games as much to find himself in PFA’s team of the year.
In place of Coutinho, Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas would have been a better call after Spaniard’s inspired season where he has literally and metaphorically assisted Chelsea to the Premier League title.
