The Premier League is now past its quarter stage and is already looking like one of the most exciting contests in recent times. The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Liverpool are divided by just a few points at the top of the points table and they will hope to keep up their good start to stay in the hunt for the title.

The month of October was huge for many clubs as they managed to find some much-needed form going into the rest of the season and there were some superb performances by individuals in teams all around the country.

Liverpool – Philippe Coutinho

With 4 wins and a draw in 5 league games in October, Liverpool jumped to the top of the table going into the international break. Brazil international Philippe Coutinho was they Player of the Month for October, picking up a couple of goals and two consecutive man of the match awards at the end of the month.

Manchester City – Ilkay Gundogan:

With some superb performances in the middle of the pitch for Manchester City, their summer purchase Gundogan was named their Player of the Month for October. He helped them to a victory over Barcelona, and also played a huge role in most games in the month, leaving Manchester City just a point off the top of the table.

Chelsea – Eden Hazard:

Also, the PFA fans Player of the Month for October in the Premier League, Eden Hazard, has won three man of the match awards during the month and has lifted Chelsea to a place in the top-4. In a month where Chelsea did not concede a goal in the league, Hazard picked up 3 goals and an assist putting in some superb performances during the month.

Arsenal – Mesut Ozil:

Picking up his first ever hat-trick in the month, Ozil, was the star player for Arsenal in October. The Gunners had a few hiccups in the month and fell down to the 4^th place but Ozil was at his best throughout the month and has produces some sizzling performances to help the club keep up their unbeaten streak this season.

Manchester United – Juan Mata:

Having dropped to the 8^th place in the points table at the end of the month, Manchester United struggled to get results in the previous month. However, one Juan Mata was at the top of his game, putting in some commanding performances and helping his side to a couple of points from crunch games.
