Player ratings (Watford 1-3 Arsenal): Sanchez and Xhaka shine in Arsenal’s first PL win of the season
Arsenal have clinched their first victory in the Premier League this season away from home against Watford as the Gunners were at their best in the display.
Having had optimistic news about new signings Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi, Gunners fans were in cloud nine today and a sweet victory meant the fans are now more happy than ever after frustrating days over the past month.
New signings Granit Xhaka have shown his passing range in the game as he won praises for his impressive outing. The arrival of Ozil meant, Arsenal were more creative in their attack as they pulled a tricky away game with ease and clinched crucial three points.
Petr Cech- 8
The Czech international is as reliable as ever when needed and have displayed yet another fine performance for Gunners as he managed a couple of great saves. The only regret for him would be not having a clean sheet.
The young full-back is living to the expectations as he was very impressive going forward in the attack. He had no problems at the back as no real threat was made down his flank.
Rob Holding – 8
The youngster who took much of criticism after Liverpool loss have come a long way as he put in a great performance and have been rock solid in the middle of the park.
Koscielny – 7
The veteran has brought in much needed experience to the defense after their poor showing against Liverpool. He had done well to control the Watford central forwards.
The veteran full-back was decent but was caught out a few times during the game. He was substituted due to injury during the second half of the game.
The Spaniard have put in a fine performance as Arsenal commanded the game play thanks to Cazorla and Xhaka who helped in Arsenal’s attack. Also scored the first goal for Gunners early in the game.
Could be 9? The new signing have shown glimpses of his best as he displayed his range of passing in the game. Arsenal fans would be happy of he continues the current form.
Helped the team with decent runs into Watford’s defense. He set up second goal for Sanchez and have been actively involved in the proceedings despite not having a goal to his name.
Showed the difference why Arsenal will need Ozil. The Gunners looked a whole different side to their first two games as they have very creative in their attack. The German have capped his performance with a great header for the third goal.
Not his day as the young winger have failed to make impact and have also failed to help Monreal which made the defender gets exposed and caught out at times.
Arguably the best Arsenal player in the game. He has won the penalty for the first goal. Scored the second one and assisted the third one. The Chilean will once again play an important role in Arsenal’s proceedings this season.
