West Ham United star Dimitri Payet has said that playing for Arsenal will be ‘fun’ for a technical player like him.
The France international has been linked with a move to the Emirates for quite some time now and he admitted to being aware of the speculation. The highly-rated forward enjoyed a breakthrough year with the Hammers last term when his nine goals helped Slaven Bilic’s men to finish seventh in the table. However, things have changed this year as the London outfit is struggling to replicate their old form and are languishing in the 13th position in the Premier League. It has raised speculations around his future at the Olympic Stadium and his latest comment is only going to strengthen those rumours.
Speaking to RMC, Payet said:“I read that Wenger considers me the missing piece of the Arsenal’s game, but he’s never told me that!”
“We conceded five or six at home against them. When you see them playing, as a technical player, you could only have fun on that team. They’re candidates for the title every year,” he added.

Speaking about his team’s dismal performance this term, the France star said:“The situation at the club affects me, but I’m an ambitious person.I’m in a fight with my club and I’m giving everything for them, to get out of this difficult situation, but I’m not closing the door to anything.
At the same time, he hinted of moving to a bigger club where he can enjoy playing in bigger competitions.
He said:“I miss the Champions League… I’ve got some great years ahead of me and I want to enjoy them by playing in important competitions.”
“If I’m forced to leave West Ham, it will be done according to the rules – the club will have its share of the cake. My coach understands that today’s situation does not suit me. I will ask the questions at the right time,” he added.
Well, his statement will be a big boost for the Gunners who are struggling hard to tie down Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. Payet has proved himself in the Premier League and might be an ideal addition to the Gunners squad.
