Reigning LA Liga and UEFA Champions League holders FC Barcelona have been linked with French superstar Paul Pogba in recent weeks.
The former European Golden Boy has been a major interest for most of the big clubs in Europe including giants like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea, but Barcelona is tipped to get the services of the Juventus’ box to box midfielder for the next few seasons.
Juventus and Barcelona officials are reportedly holding a meeting today in Italy and decide about the future of the 22 year old French International, claims Catalan Newspaper Sport.
Pogba is interested in joining the Spanish champions but he has some requirements which need to be fulfilled by Luis Enrique’s side.
The player’s agent, Mino Raiola, has been in Barcelona hearing the proposed contract which has meant the club for the player and believes that, for now, does not meet the demands of the player. Raiola, who still maintains continuous telephone contact with Barca executives, claimed a few weeks ago an official gesture that the club fulfilled. The company informed Juventus about Barcelona’s offer and also warned Barcelona to improve the offer for the player.
Pogba’s five requirements are:
1> Pogba wants 12 million Euros per season deal from Barcelona which will make him the second highest paid Barcelona player after Lionel Messi and he will earn more than stars like Luis Suarez and Neymar.
2> Raiola believes that the Barcelona is willing to make effort to make a good offer to Juventus for Pogba, but his strategy is to wait a few weeks to negotiate. The player’s agent will not enter negotiations now and only negotiate with the new president as he will have the valid authority to sign the marquee player. That means no serious negotiation will take place before July 19.
3> Pogba is willing to wait until the elections at Barcelona takes place. He has a desire to play alongside Lionel Messi and is ready to wait for some days. But if Barcelona is too late, he woul consider offers from other clubs like Chlesea and Manchester City.
4> Pogba can also wait for a year to join Barcelona until July, 2016 as he is very grateful to Juventus for his improvement and abilities. However, he also suggested that his current wage, 6 million Euros a year is too small and he will demand compensation from Barcelona to make his total wage 12 million Euros for one year.
5> The fee for the transaction will not be an obstacle; Raiola will charge according to his package deal.
Paul Pogba is one of the hottest prospects in the world currently and his joining Barcelona will make the Spanish champions even more stronger. But Barcelona will have to fulfil these requirements first to tempt the 22 year old to Camp Neu.
