Chelsea are coming on the back of a special win against Southampton and will look to continue their good run against Norwich as they look climb up the league table. Ahead of the midweek kick-off, we take a look at the predicted Chelsea lineup vs Norwich, with Alexandre Pato set to make his debut.
There have been talks of Pato making his Chelsea debut, and it could happen against Norwich this week. Pato has been training well and could be used as a substitute at Carrow Roadagainst a struggling Norwich side.
Add to that Guus Hiddink hinted at resting Diego Costa in his pre-match interview, which would suggest that Pato would start to upfront on his own.
The team will not be any different to what we saw against Southampton, given the lack of options for Guus Hiddink. Attacking trio of Hazard, Willian and Pedro will be responsible to create goals for the exciting Alexandre Pato.
Cesc Fabregas will be given the responsibility of playing from the deep-lying playmaker role and will tuck alongside John Obi Mikel. Nemanja Matic has not been anywhere near his last season’s form and he will be the one left out for the game against Norwich.
Fresh from his match-winning goal vs Southampton, Branislav Ivanovic will lead Chelsea’s defense with Gary Cahill as his central defensive partner. Baba Rahman received some stick for his performance against the Saints, however, he will retain his place in the lineup with Cesar Azpilicueta playing as the right-back.
