FA Cup: Predicted XI of Manchester United against Derby County
Manchester United will face Derby County in the FA Cup on Friday. The Red Devils were defeated last week in the game against Southampton which ended 1-0. Darmian is said to miss the game against Derby following an injury caused by Shane Long. Michael Carrick is rumoured to make a return. Carrick hasn’t played since January 9.
United head into this clash on the back of a first defeat in six games, at the hands of Southampton last weekend. With a potential Wembley cup final just five wins away, victory over promotion-chasing Derby would serve as a welcome boost for Louis van Gaal’s side.
Here’s a look into the probable line up of Manchester United against Derby County
David De Gea
Big Dave has been the key player in United’s squad this season. The Spaniard is the only player who saves the team in its times of trouble. One can easily call him the most consistent player on the pitch
With Darmian missing out on the game following an injury, McNair could be included in the squad as a replacement. The defender was benched in the game against Southampton
Termed as ‘Smalldini’ by the fans, Smalling seems to have been losing his touch lately. The centre-back has had poor performances lately and is falling down in his form.
Blind hasn’t really shined out as a brilliant buy of the transfer market. The Dutchman has failed to be in the limelight as he continues being average in every fixture.
The youngster has performed decent in the last few fixtures as he replaces the injured Ashley Young. One can expect good games from him in the future.
Morgan will miss the presence of Bastian in the ‘Schwimfield’ as the German will miss the game. Schneiderlin has been devoid of chances despite being decent in his form.
Fellaini has been poor this season as the Belgian has often failed to live up to the hopes of the fans and coaching staff. If he continues this form, one may see him head out of Old Trafford, soon.
Mata will yet again be paired up with fellow Spaniard Herrera in the midfield as all eyes will be on him to create some action for netting few goals.
Herrera, like Mata, has been losing his charm this season. The lad has failed to prove his value even after being started several times.
Rooney could be played for just 60 minutes as the boss wouldn’t want to exert the star striker in this not so difficult fixture. Adnan Januzaj could be brought on in his place after an hour or so.
Martial will have to post his name on the score sheet in order to secure a win in the game. He too could be subbed off early to provide rest.
