Premier League 2020-21 Season Overview

There are a lot of ups and downs on the road of Premier League 2020-21 season. It remained quite unpredictable till the halfway. But slowly Manchester City came out as more superior than the others.

It was Manchester City’s fifth Premier League title. They finished the league with 86 points in total, which was 12 points is superior to the runner up Manchester United. Teaching of Manchester United They were never looked to be a potential winner of the Premier League this year.

Premier League 2020-21 Season Overview

On the 1st half of the season, the defending Champions Liverpool will snatch the title again. But after Christmas Liverpool started to drop points. And after 28 games they were left Behind in the eighth position. But Liverpool play excellently in their last 10 games. They got a total of 8 victories out of 10 and drew only 2.

The 3rd, 4th and 5th positions offered a great competition as all Liverpool, Chelsea, and Leicester City seemed potential contenders. But Leicester City were quite bad in their last 10 games, and just like last year, they bottled the Champions League spot.

Tottenham Hotspur was a genuine contender for the fourth position but they had to be happy with the seventh position only. Former Premier League Champions Arsenal never looked like a potential contender for the top 4. But they did pretty well in their last 10 games. Especially in their last five games, they remained undefeated. At the end of the day, Arsenal finished 8th.

Leeds United made an emotional come back to the Premier League this year. They had been the ultimate underdogs for this year who finished ninth. Everton and Aston Villa started the campaign extremely well. But as time passed they could not keep the pace as they finished 10th and 11th respectively.

Among the other teams, the manager of Crystal Palace Roy Hodgson managed his last game as he announced his retirement after the end of the season. It had been an emotional journey for the 73 year old man.

Among the relegated sides, Fulham and West Bromwich Albion were not much shocking names as most of the pundits predicted that these two sides will get relegated.

Sheffield United is the most shocking name who got relegated this season. They finished ninth last season and everybody was expecting them to be fighting for the Europa League spot this season. But they were the team of the bottom, and one of the biggest reasons behind this is there 24 million flop signing Rhian Brewster who scored 0 goals in 27 league appearances.

Norwich City and Watford are coming back to the Premier League again this season. And the winner of the playoff final will also join Premier League. Brentford has the chance to play first division for the first time in their 131 year history. We are hoping to get a blast in the new season of PL football again.
