Football has fast grown to become one of the most financially wealthy recreational event and the Premier League has got to be known as the richest league in the world of football.

Insane amounts of money is exchanged all around the world in different leagues and the transfer windows both in summer and in winter see a number of clubs go gung ho on clubs with talented players.

With Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool doing some extraordinary business in the last few windows, Premier League club’s net spending has reached new levels as per reports from the FIFA.

Premier League clubs have spent more than £1bn on transfers in a season for the first time in history, new figures revealed.

In the previous season, a record £ 965m was spent but that figure has already been beaten with clubs have upto 11:00 pm GMT on Monday to finalize further deals.

 

 

 

Newcastle Untied, struggling in the relegation zone have spent the most this January with Shelvy, Townsend and Saivet all moving to the club. They also bid £ 21m for WBA forward Saido Berahino but the deal seems to have hit a snag.

The 20 teams have spent £ 130m in January talking the net spent value over a billion.

Dan Jones, partner in the Sports Business Group at Deloitte, said: “We’ve seen Premier League clubs again use the January window to invest significantly in playing talent.

“With a day left, the total gross spending this season has already reached £1bn for the first time.”
