Everton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted that Chelsea were absolutely brilliant in their new 3-4-3 formation and praised the Blues for the level of football they showed at the Stamford Bridge to clinch a massive 5-0 victory against Merseyside club.
The Toffees had no answer to Chelsea game-plan as the Blues ran riot since the start of the game which helped them become new league leaders toppling Manchester City. The win also meant Chelsea have now won five games in a row and are yet to concede a single goal since the switching of the formation.
The Blues opened the scoring in 19th minute courtesy Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso doubled it in the next minute as Blues went into half time 3-0. The Blues continued their dominance in the second half which helped them manage a massive 5-0.
“Chelsea showed us a very high level of football in every aspect of football,” the Dutchman said.
“How they work, how they run, how they press – we can learn from them. It’s a big lesson for us.
“I never saw a team playing so well this system. This system is very difficult to play against, the movement of the players, Hazard.”
Everton had a strong start to the season and were expected to give stiff competition to the Blues. However, Conte with his tactical brilliance overtook the Merseyside club by storm as Blues were at their imperious best after a long time. The emergence of Eden Hazard is the positive thing that Chelsea fans could take as he has now won three man of the match awards on a spin and is looking increasingly dangerous in his new position, which is more central to the attack in their 3-4-3 formation.
