Dutch midfielder Marco van Ginkel has spent four-month loan spell at Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven and has excelled in the league as he scored 8 goals in 13 appearances for the Dutch giants.
He played a crucial part during the second half of the season as PSV were crowned as Dutch Champions for the 23rd time in their history. However, van Ginkel came back to Chelsea for the current season and have been in the preseason preparations just like other loanees but did not make it their travelling squad which raises questions about his future at the club.
However new manager Antonio Conte has not taken any decision on the midfielder, the 23-year old seeks regular first team football as he eyes development in his career. With this, the future of the player is away from Chelsea whether it is a loan or permanent move.
The Dutch international has had loan stints at AC Milan and Stoke City but things are going in the right direction for the player at the moment. PSV has made van Ginkel their primary transfer target for this summer as they looked to get back the player either on loan or on a permanent deal, according to Dutch newspaper Eindhovens Dagblad.
However, van Ginkel’s agent Karel Jensen feels it is too early to assume over his future despite the player willing to return to PSV.
He said, “It makes no sense to force things. Marco is at Chelsea under contract and the new coach [Antonio Conte] has only recently been able to see him at work. In the coming period, a decision [will be] made about him. It may take some time.”
