The third match of this year’s Indian Super League saw Pune City FC welcoming Mumbai FC at the Balewadi Stadium. Both the teams had a poor last season and were looking to make a good start to the season. However, the game lacked any flair with both the teams still not looking impressive.
The teams failed to open the scoring in the first half. But Matías Defederico broke the deadlock when he found the back of the net for Mumbai in the 69th minute to give his team a 1-0 win.
Mumbai are traditionally poor travellers and this is just their second away win in the history of the tournament. They finished sixth last season and will definitely look to build on their win and improve their last season’s dismal record.
