Real Madrid fans want club to sell Sergio Ramos – AS Poll
A poll conducted by Spanish newspaper AS suggests, Real Madrid fans want the club to sell Sergio Ramos this summer. Almost 55% of the Los Blancos fans have voted in favour of selling Sergio Ramos.
The Sergio Ramos transfer saga is getting stimulated day-by-day after the Spaniard had revealed last month that he wanted to leave the club. It was reported that he was not happy with the club’s treatment towards him. After spending 10 seasons at the club, Ramos demanded a contract worth €10m a year, but the club decided to offer him €7m. He has entered the last few years of his contract with Madrid and now it seems that he wants to leave the club this season itself. Premier League giants Manchester United are believed to be the front-runners in bagging Ramos’ signature.
Manchester United are in search of a marquee defender who can lead the backline and bolster the defense. Sergio Ramos would perfectly suit United’s needs at the moment. The only problem regarding the transfer is that Real Madrid have reportedly asked for a mammoth sum of €90 million for selling the defender Though Louis van Gaal is ready to spend heavy amounts, such a huge transfer fee for a 29 year-old sounds a bit impractical.
The poll conducted by AS further asked the fans about a prospective transfer fee for Sergio Ramos to which 22% fans opined that €60 million would be perfect for the Spaniard.
Now that the fans have also given their verdicts, the speculation of Ramos to United has recieved a great boost. Real Madrid officials are likely to take this seriously and considering sending Ramos out of the club. Well, the club would never want a player to stay if he is no more a fan favourite.
Real Madrid are also considering buying Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea from Manchester United after the young custodian had a fantastic outing with Red devils last season. The clubs might exchange the players along with an amount of cash. The subject of Ramos transfer has now reached a new height with the poll results.
