It is not often that players who have succeeded at the Bernabeu are in close contact with their Catalan rivals but Spanish legend Raul is one who is trying to make things work.
Currently working as an ambassador for the Spanish domestic league, Raul has been involved in a number of things with Barcelona and he has today revealed that he would not mind working there.
The former Real Madrid striker is one of the best ever in the game for club and country and his ambassador role has seen him participate in a number of events from the Camp Nou.
And speaking to the media recently, he has revealed that though going back to the Bernabeu is his dream, he is also open to an opportunity with the Blaugrana in the future.
In his interview with Sport recently, Raul was asked about his future and if he is happy in his current role.
He went on to say that he is ready to move back to his former club where he attained legendary status.
“I like to go step by step, my first desire is to return home, to Real Madrid, when the time is right,” Raul told newspaper Sport, who then suggested Barcelona as a possible destination.
He went on to suggest that a move to Catalonia is also a possibility in the future.
“This is football, and you can never say that ‘I will not do this or that’.”
However, he was quick to show his love to the Los Blancos and said that the club will always be a part of him in his life.
“I was at Real Madrid for 17 years and no one can doubt my Madridismo,” Raul stated.
“My conscience is clear,” he added.
He then went on to reveal that it was important for a person in his position to be able to recognize the success of other teams and hinted that Barcelona could be his next club.
“Another very different thing is that when you talk about football and analyse, for example, what Barcelona has done over the years, it is fair to recognise that the club has done well,” Raul added.
Do you think the Real Madrid man will take up a role at the Camp Nou anytime in the future?
